Join us on Thursday, July 23rd from 5PM - 6PM EDT for an interactive virtual event to learn how seasoned tech leaders took charge of their careers, and their futures, and the lessons they learned along the way.

Sean Hemingway, MSEM '01 • Senior Vice President - Global Head of BioLife Plasma Services at Takeda

Sean Hemingway began his career in the biotech industry as a process engineer with companies including Perceptive Biosystems and BASF Bioresearch. In 1999 Sean joined Wyeth Biotech, where he advanced to senior-level operations management roles. He joined Genzyme Corporation before moving to Baxter International as Vice President, Head of Strategy and Operations Efficiency. Following Shire’s combination with Baxalta, Sean became Head of Product Operations & Network Excellence. After the acquisition of Shire by Takeda, Sean took on the role of Senior Vice President - Global Head of BioLife Plasma Services. Sean holds a BS from the University of Rhode Island, and an MSEM from Tufts Gordon Institute.

Carl Long, MSEM '04 • Global Quality Director at Cabot Corporation

Carl Long joined Cabot Corporation in 2004 as Technical and Quality Manager of Cabot’s Inkjet Colorants Division and is now the Global Quality Director for Cabot’s carbon black businesses. His leadership inspires commitment to quality principles, including continual improvement, and fosters the mindset and passion necessary to produce a thoughtful deployment of quality discipline and best practice for delivery of customer and business requirements. He has successfully implemented world-class manufacturing practices and has established a culture of customer-focus, lean and process thinking, structured learning approaches and a drive for flawless execution. Prior to joining Cabot, Carl was employed as Operations Manager at Eastman Gelatine Corporation in Peabody, MA. Carl earned a BSE degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and his MSEM from Tufts Gordon Institute. He is also a certified Six-Sigma Black Belt practitioner.

Lisa Wyman, MSEM '08 • Senior Vice President of Technical Operations at Acceleron Pharma

As the Senior Vice President of Technical Operations at Acceleron Pharma, Lisa Wyman is an accomplished biotechnology and medical device executive with 20+ years of diverse experience in engineering, manufacturing, and quality compliance. Prior to her current role, Lisa was Senior Director of Quality Compliance & Risk Management at Shire as well as held positions in manufacturing, engineering and quality at Boston Scientific, Biogen, Wyeth, and Lonza. She has a strong history of transforming programs and teams, improving regulatory compliance, and driving exponential growth. Lisa was selected as one of Boston Business Journal’s 40 under 40 and recognized by Plant Engineering as a 2016 Engineering Leader. Lisa received her BS from Ithaca College and her MSEM from Tufts Gordon Institute. She also serves on the board of Lean In Boston and was the founder of Lean In Shire, a women’s business resource group.
